Bidding Goodbye to the Residential College
Hong Kong
Tuesday, 23 April, 2013 was the last day of my stay with my
dad at the Residential College, Kennedy Town. My dad took permission from the
authority of the College for stay at the College for 1 week. Usually, the
Residential College doesn’t allow any outsiders to stay in the College. You have
to be a permanent resident of the College. As my dad is a tutor, he requested
the authority and I was given the permission to stay for 1 week, not more than
that.
I came to Hong Kong on Tuesday, 16 April, 2013. Since then I
have been living with my dad in the Residential College. I had a very great
time with my dad. We used to stay late at night playing chess. As he is a busy
person, first he used to finish his assignment, then, we used to play chess. While
he is doing his assignment sometimes I used to use internet in his I-pad, and sometimes
I used to read books that my dad brought it from the library. And we used to
sleep late at night at around 2:00 am. And I used to get up at 9:00 am in the
morning whereas my dad used to get up at 6:00 am in the morning. After we got
up, we used to go to the university. Then at the university, he used to work in
his office and I used to go to the computer room at the university. And at the
evening, we used to go down the street for dinner. Sometimes, we used to eat
normal food, sometimes sea food like octopus, crab, prawn, etc. and at
holidays, we used to have lunch or dinner with my aunt or uncle. And after the
dinner, we used to return to the Residential College. After we return, he used
to work on his assignment and I used to read some books or use the I-pad. And
sometimes we used to go down to near the ocean and stay there for a while and
we also used to visit different park at the evening. And the most memorable
part of the stay was about doing “chai”
[Chinese language for Scissor, Paper, and Rock]. As there was only 1 bed, other
one had to sleep on the floor. So, in order to decide who will sleep on the
bed, we used to do chai. For six
days, our scores were tied. But at the last day I won fair and square to my dad
ending the chai at score 4-3. So, this
way, I got to learn many things and experienced a different way of living. But,
overall, I can say that I had a really good time at the Residential College. During
my leave, I bid farewell to all the people and promising to be back for visit.
Then I moved to my uncle’s apartment on Wednesday, 24 April,
2013 at Jordon where I will be staying for a week.
