Kathmandu Teen's Writer
Hello!!!!To all the readers who take out
little time of their tiring and busy life to read my blog. I hope the blog is
satisfying and readable to all of you. I have not been able to write something
new in the blog due to some problems.. Well, as the name itself suggests, “Kathmandu Teen”actually focuses in the
teenagers of Kathmandu city like what they are interested in, what kind of
field is popular among them, what they think about their life goal, et cetera.
And I am giving my best in these topics. This blog may be readable and
interesting not only to the teenagers but also to the elder peoples.
I am Tong Man Thapa and I
write everything in the blog, so I am officially the writer of the blog “Kathmandu Teen”. Like everyone, I have
some hobbies like I like to listen to music, I like to play guitar with my
friends, I also like to dance, travelling, sometimes hanging around with
friends, et cetera. I used to dance in my schooldays and I have taken part in
different competitions and programs. I also play guitar with my friends. I have
just appeared my SLC examinations or finished my grade 10 from N.K Singh
Memorial English Preparatory School located at Min Bhawan, New Baneshwor. And
all the SLC appeared students have 3 months gap before the results are out and
the college starts. Like all the other students, I am also free for 3 months.
Well, this 3 month’s gap
is the best time to those students who can utilize their time properly. I have
seen many students who join Bridge Course (Special course for +2 and
preparation for entrance examination) after their SLC examination. I cannot
completely deny the fact that it creates a base for +2 and it will help in the
entrance preparation for the colleges. But, I rather think that taking Bridge
Course is a total waste of time and money, no offense to anyone who joins such
courses. Instead, I think these 3 months are meant to explore your mind and
increase your creativity, as well as to have some fun because you never get
another chance like this and life is too short for those to be a bookworm. I
mean, we, the SLC appeared students are finally free from the burden of the
books and the pressure from our parents. And, instead of exploring, they still
want to dive into the water and drown. But, not all of the students take
courses because they want to but because they are forced to by their parents
and elders in the name of good future. And, to sum up, 3 months courses doesn't
decide our future. A student must be hard-working in their college life for
their future.
In fact, I have many
friends who are taking Bridge Course now. Like I said, they take not because
they want to but because they are forced to. And there are some students who
are very serious about study, so, in their view, these courses may do well to
them. And there are also students who are unsure about themselves, or like,
they are not confident enough about themselves, so these kinds of students also
take courses. I was also asked to join this kind of courses but I didn't want
to and I didn't join it. Instead, I am taking guitar classes with some of my
friends. To be frank, my friends are planning to create a musical band. I know
it’s not easy and takes time. But, hey, it’s better than pressuring your mind
like a pressure cooker and besides we have plenty of time. And besides that I
do blogging in my free time.
Instead of taking Bridge
Course which gives pressure and loots money more than giving education, take
music class, or take dance class, or you can even work like 2 or 3 hours a day
like a volunteer in the orphanage or something creative and something no other
friends of yours has done. These kinds of activities help you to exchange
knowledge among each other and learn new things. And if you really don’t want
to get out of your house very often, then you can sometime prepare a dish for
all the family which will make the whole family happy. Or you can even go out
for a long tour like to Pokhara, Lumbini, et cetera with your friends or with
your family members and folks; you are staying at Nepal, which is considered to be the second richest
country in natural beauty around the world. Some students are so lazy that they
think this is the time to rest and do nothing, so, they celebrate “Do Nothing
Day” everyday… hahah!!!
So, my friends get up and think new, think
creative and work and enjoy everything you do. And I would like to wish all the
SLC graduates a very best of luck for the upcoming SLC result. And, the most
important thing, never take stress and tension about anything, especially SLC
results to my fellow friends…. And, enjoy every second of your life like you
have never before…
-Tong Man
