Young and Dumb!?!

“‘We were once young and dumb.’ It has become such a cliché that people tend to visualize them synonymous to each other. Sure, back in the days, I was young and dumb, but, that trait led me to various adventures and experiences. I have travelled across the land, narrow and wide, climbed my way up to some ferocious mountains, sailed across the dark deep sea, even jumped into it.

I have travelled to many foreign lands, witnessing first-hand their indigenous culture and tradition, and spoke many tongues. I watched their devotion and practices in the name of their God. I have walked the busy streets into the dark alleys and into the knocking shop.

I have climbed up the ferocious dragon’s back1. I have rested my feet in a cave sitting beside a fire. I survived and came out of a thundering rainy season, a desert hot summer.  I have gone to the suburb seeking, begging for food and water.

I have travelled far and wide exchanging currencies and wealth. I have crossed the narrow sea onto a foreign land beckoned by many tycoons. I have monopolized many deals, folded them, and sealed them away from public.

I have travelled many skies, been on many flights, explored the infinity. I have been places where people deem impossible. Now, I have aged with time; the ‘young and dumb’ has now become the ‘old and wise’.

I left off here for my last adventure. Today, I lay awake, weak and frail with time, awaiting my master so that we can reminisce the good old days. I lay awake inside a box at the corner of the attic. Come visit me sometimes, I can take you on adventures like you’ve never been before.”
