The Day at the Park
The day started just
like any other for me: rise and shine.
I didn't draw the
curtains full back at first. There looked to be too much sun for me to face
before a shower. I thought it had no business by being too bright at this time
of year.
I grabbed a strong
coffee with the few dollars I had saved and I was surprised that my name was spelled
correctly this time. I could sense a great day ahead, and now even the sun
looked bright enough to lighten up the day. As usual I went to The
Boogey-Woogey Library and Cafe four blocks away from the coffee shop and like
any other day, I browsed through the Fiction Section and grabbed a book. I like
to bring my own caffeine from the coffee shop four blocks away rather than have
it from the cafe.
Like always, I stayed
at the table at the corner of the room with the windows just beside me so that
I can take a change of scenario between the cafe and the rhythmic beating of students,
businessmen, woman outside the window.
I took my classes
till 3 o' clock, and I went to the park and sat at the bench with my headphones
on. Just like always, the park gets filled with many on-goers, some students,
some elderly veteran, some with dogs... Dogs? Yeah, I just remembered
something.
Today,
as I was sitting there with my headphones on, I noticed something today. I
noticed the dogs(seriously speaking). I noticed how many breeds of dog passed
by with their owner while I sat there. I don't even know the name of the breed
of so many of them.
I sat there watching.
They walked like a boss with their owners with them; literally speaking. And
they don't even bark at other passersby. Even with or without the leash, it's
safe for us walk to past them. They don't bite people. Forget about biting,
they don't even bat an eye. While in
Nepal, the dogs bark so ferociously at the passerby, seriously, someday it's
gonna kill someone simply by barking. That is a real threat for us Nepalese. And not to exaggerate, but the dogs really
strive for a kill when they run at you. And if you happen to be in Nepal, and
come across the same situation, turn the other way around, don't look back, and run, if you value your life.
And if you are fortunate to experience a dog-bite, may you tell your story to
your grandchildren. XD
Till next time. Ciao.
