Youngsters, PLEASE STOP!!

How many more[lives]..? It's already late. But the streets are filled with night-walkers or tourists and nights are still bright. The city is illuminated by light where darkness should be the one walking stiffly. They hide behind the shadows of the night, walking briskly from street to street, increasing the pace after each street. They snatch some bucks not thinking twice about the consequences. Moves about three blocks. Just like buying snacks in a 7-Eleven store, they buy drugs. This time, they persuade another one of their friends to join them and assuring them a very good time(the new friends are actually on their mid-teens). They whizz down another two blocks and cautiously moves down to the basement of a run-down building. The police never know of this place. After moving further to their corner spot of the basement, they draw out their snacks, 'ICE'. Just like a normal people consume their snacks, they consume THEIR's. It has started. Purkha Divas

  What do we picture when we say 'Purkha'? Yes, I just visualized the same picture as you. The 'Gurkhas' or 'Gorkhas' very widely known as a brave, fearless and steel-hearted warrior with an unrivaled military prowess, and to top it up, the signature weapon 'Khukuri'. And, from all the history I read and heard for myself, the 'Gurkhas' don't flinch when come across an enemy. I believe this summarizes the whole thing we pictured when we said 'Purkha'. The Gurkha Cemeteries Trust and Hong Kong Nepalese Foundation organizes 'Purkha Divas' every 5 th of April as a memorial day for our ancestors, our late Gurkhas. It is an educational and community event for all people as well as a platform for the youngsters living in Hong Kong to know about our culture, identity and history.
